Dr. Andrea Benkendorff was born in Rendsburg, Schleswig-Holstein.

Following a stay abroad in the USA, she completed her law studies in connection with specialised foreign language training in English, French and Spanish in Passau, Santiago de Compostela (Spain) and Munich. During her studies she worked for the Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich, the German Embassy in Ecuador and for the German Bundestag.

Miss Dr. Benkendorff speaks fluent English and Spanish.

Dr. Andrea Benkendorff has been practicing law since 1996 and serving as a labour law specialist since 2000. She earned her doctorate in 2002 in the area of employee leasing. She was a partner in the national Graf von Westphalen law partnership starting in 2004, and has been a partner at the Battke Grünberg Attorneys at Law Partnership since 2010. Dr. Andrea Benkendorff’s work concentrates on labour law with a particular sectorial focus on the areas of the New Economy, the social economy, and healthcare under private, public and ecclesiastical sponsorship.

Her professional focuses lie in the on-going consultation on collective and individual labour law as well as the creation and implementation of modern human resource management concepts and collective wage and employment agreements to promote the competitiveness and attractiveness of the employer. Labour law-related advice and representation in the fields of personnel adjustment, privatisations, business acquisitions, and restructurings are a matter of course. Dr. Andrea Benkendorff represents employers in judgement and decision-making proceedings in all instances of labour and ecclesiastical jurisdiction.

Dr. Benkendorff is a member of the Equal Opportunities Advisory Board of the Saxon State Ministry of Social Affairs and Consumer Protection and a member of the Saxon Expert Group for Labour Law, the Work Group of Saxon Female Executives, the German Bar Association, and Business and Professional Women Dresden e.V. She works with TU Dresden, Chemnitz University of Technology and Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, and she gives lectures on Labour Law within the framework of the clerkship training.
